This guide is designed to help Casper Torus Wallet users transition existing accounts to Casper Wallet. Casper Wallet offers all the core features of Casper Torus Wallet. While some manual effort is required, Casper Torus Wallet users are strongly encouraged to move their accounts to Casper Wallet for the best user experience.

The following instructions demonstrate step-by-step how to download your Casper Torus account and import it into Casper Wallet.

Migration Steps

Step 1: Export your secret key from Casper Torus Wallet

Download your Casper Torus Wallet private key from https://app.openlogin.com/
    1. First, head over to https://app.openlogin.com/.
    2. Then, login to with the same account and login method that you previously used for https://casper.tor.us/
    3. Once successfully logged in at the home page, navigate to the Authorized Apps Tab.
    4. At the Authorized Apps Tab, scroll to find the Casper-Wallet at casper.tor.us.
    5. You will be presented with the option to download your Private Key.
    6. Click to download your Private Key to a secure location, this private key will be your secret key used to import to your new Casper Wallet.

Step 2: Launch Casper Wallet

If you have not done so yet, download and install Casper Wallet. Launch the extension and complete the on screen instructions to set a password and create your wallet’s recovery phrase.

Step 3: Import keys into Casper Wallet

    1. Once you’ve completed all on screen instructions and you have your new recovery phrase generated, click the ☰ button and select Import Torus account.
    2. Next, you’ll be prompted with a summary of steps to export your secret key from the Torus wallet. Make sure you read all of the presented information by scrolling down if needed.
    3. Then, click Next when you have your secret key ready to be imported.
    4. You will be presented with the account details page where you can enter your Secret key and name your account for your convenience. After entering all required information, click Import to continue.
    5. On the last screen, you will be greeted with a success message, and be informed that your account will be distinguished by an IMPORTED icon in the accounts list.

Congratulations! You have successfully imported your account from Casper Torus Wallet to Casper Wallet!

You can now select your newly imported account from the accounts list of Casper Wallet, and start using it to connect to dApps on Casper network.

⚠️ Please remember that Casper Wallet cannot recover imported accounts upon reinstallation. Ensure you securely store your recovery phrase and secret key, as they are necessary for re-importing your account in the future.
