Token2049 is just around the corner, and unless you've been living under a rock (or stuck on a Zoom call), you've probably seen a ton of guides flooding X.

Now, I'm not here to tell you which side events to attend - everyone's got their own agenda, and frankly, trying to make a "one size fits all" guide would be like using an umbrella in a hurricane. Instead, this guide is all about helping you keep things running smoothly.

"How can we trust that your guide is accurate?"

Before Arrival

Things you should prepare before arrival.

  1. Make sure you've applied for an entry visa. If you're not sure if you need one, you can check it here.
  2. Fill out the SG Arrival Card here. (You can submit your arrival card information 3 days prior to your date of arrival in Singapore.)

Important Reminder: Vapes and e-cigarettes are banned in Singapore. Please make sure to dispose of them before your trip.

Getting Around

Getting around in Singapore is pretty straight forward because of our extensive public transport. Station names are in English (looking at you Tokyo & Seoul), so you'll be able to navigate easily.

If you're in a hurry, here's a list of the most popular ride-hailing apps in Singapore.

  1. Grab (They offers food delivery, grocery delivery and even hotel booking!)
  2. Gojek
  3. Tada

All public taxis are metered and strictly regulated, so feel free to hop in without worries.

Tip: Make use of the Downtown Line (DTL) and alight at Bayfront Station to avoid heavy traffic during Token2049 event days. There is also a bus stop right outside Marina Bay Sands with buses heading to Orchard, City Hall, Tanjong Pagar, and more.

Payment Methods

You can use your credit cards pretty much everywhere in Singapore. Contactless payments are the norm, and yes, you can even tap your contactless credit card for the trains and buses.

However, it’s still a good idea to keep some cash on hand, especially if you’re heading out of the city.

You can pretty much navigate anywhere in Singapore with just Google Maps. All train and bus service timings can be tracked there as well. Be sure to have it!
