The Torus Team is thrilled to sponsor and attend the upcoming ETH Boston 2019 Hackathon at Harvard University from 6 to 8 September. Similar to the past hackathons we have sponsored, our team will be holding workshops to educate DApp developers on how they can create onboarding process that appeals to the mainstream audience, and host API prizes for DApps.
Hackathon Workshop: Increasing Your DApp Userbase with Torus
Our co-founder, Zhen will be hosting a workshop at the hackathon to educate developers on how they can provide new users coming onboard to their DApp with their very first hassle-free key and wallet. Our developers will also be conducting consultations for any developer trying to integrate Torus and gun for one of our API prizes.
Torus API Prizes
Previously at ETH India 2019, we were thrilled to award prizes to exceptional teams, several of whom were ETH India Finalist as well. We hope the prizes awarded to the teams would provide the teams with the runway needed to further develop their code to produce commercial applications for the ecosystem.
Our goal at Torus Labs is to bring the decentralised web to mainstream audiences, and we are keen to support developers who are aligned with our goals.
For ETH Boston 2019, we will be awarding prizes totalling US$6,000 to 5 teams that integrate Torus as their login mechanism with the following criteria:
- 1 Grand prize of US$2,000 in ETH will be awarded to the best DApp that incorporates Torus as the login mechanism.
- 1 Prize of US$1,000 in ETH will be awarded to the DApp which fulfil an industry need whilst using Torus as the login mechanism.
- 1 Prize of US$1,000 in ETH will be awarded to the DApp that has the most seamless and intuitive user onboarding whilst using Torus as the login mechanism.
- 1 Prize of US$1,000 in ETH will be awarded to the DApp that has the best overall user experience with Torus.
- 1 Prize of US$1,000 in ETH will be awarded to the DApp with the best creative design for implementing Torus.
Integrating Torus is seamless, and developers can either integrate us with a simple javascript tag or an NPM package.
Our team is anticipating amazing ideas and builds to come out of ETH Boston. So if you’re at the hackathon and see us with our Torus T-shirts, strike a conversation with us and we will talk anything about the decentralized ecosystem and offer some of our swag.
